Youth ArtsArts OutWest supports programs developing the arts skills and participation of young people. 2011 will be a HUGE year for youth arts projects. It's an ArtStart year AND we'll be running a region-wide Youth Media Project. Arts OutWest has a Youth Development Officer, Zoe Rodwell (in the officer Wednesdays). Contact Zoe on zrodwell@yahoo.com.au or 6338 4657 or 0434 368 033. Youth Media ProjectThe program in 2011 will be aimed at young people aged 12-25 years from across the Central West. There will be workshops in online media, film documentary, photography, radio, event management and marketing. The end of 2011 will deliver a Young People’s Film Festival that the Consultants will both design and manage; this will highlight the versatile and skilled work currently being produced by young people in the Central West. The Youth Media project is funded by the NSW Government through Arts NSW and by the Better Futures Enhancement Program. Every two years we run the ArtStart youth arts and skills program, funded by TAFE NSW. ArtStart gives hundreds of young people the chance to develop new skills in areas like film making, digital animation, drama, dance, music, art, jewellery making and event management. Read more... In 2010 we launched our Young Consultants group, a team of people aged 12-24 from the Central West interested in arts and culture. The first members of the Young Consultants met for the first time for a weekend in April. Read more... Talk 2 Me dance project (auspiced project)A partnership between Arts OutWest and Local Stages at BMEC. Bringing together dancers from Cowra and Bathurst in a new contempoary work in June 2011.
