In SITE OutIn SITE Out was a temporary, ephemeral art event held biennially at the Orange Botanic Gardens. It was held in 2003, 2005 and 2007. In SITE Out 2007 was a three week exhibition of site-specific works, workshops and arts events in the natural 17 hectare site of the Orange Botanic Gardens. In 2007, 29 works were selected for inclusion including the work of painters, sculptors, stone engravers, poets and writers, ceramicists, performers and teachers. The artists came from all over the country and represented a wide cross section of professional and emerging arts practitioners. There was also works from local TAFE fine arts students and local schools. There was a public program and a professional development component to this event plus an artists’ market over two weekends. In 2007 In SITE Out was also a part of Orange Wine Week and waste to art projects were organised to tie local industry with art making. In SITE Out 2007 was supported by the Regional Arts Fund, Arts NSW, CENTROC, Orange Regional Arts Foundation, Taste Orange and Orange City Council. Tracey Sorensen produced a 32 minute documentary on the 2007 project. View the first segment here or the full doco online at www.youtube.com/artsoutwest
