About In SITE Out 2007The temporary and ephemeral art event - October 26 to November 18, 2007 Orange Botanic Gardens, Hill St/ Kearney Dr Orange projects // In SITE Out home // about In SITE Out // program // symposium // workshops // catalogue In SITE Out 2007 is a three week exhibition of site-specific works, workshops and arts events in the natural undulating 17 hectare site of the Orange Botanic Gardens. The exhibition and accompanying activities follow the highly successful events held in 2003 and 2005. This year 29 visual works were selected along with a series of workshops. In the garens you'll meet the work of painters, sculptors, stone engravers, poets and writers, ceramicists, performers and teachers. The artists come from all over the country and represent a wide cross section of professional and emerging arts practitioners. There are also works from local TAFE fine arts students. There is also a public program and a professional development component to this event. In this way, it will be possible for other artists and students of art and the general public to connect to the ways in which artists and the arts play an important role in the interpretation of the environmental concerns of our environment. In SITE Out this year is also a part of the exciting Orange Wine Week and a number of waste to art projects have been organised to tie local industry with art making. We invite you to come along to one or more of the events in the three week program and enjoy these beautiful gardens and the variety of artworks housed within them.
