New communications officer for Arts OutWest

Natalie Kent, professional journalist, born and raised in Dubbo joined the team at Arts OutWest this week. Natalie has a passion for the arts, for creativity and is herself an emerging photographer. In her early years she was involved with the local Eisteddfods with speech and drama and now likes to explore new horizons. Recently, she has spent time travelling in South America and Thailand from which she compiled a set of magnificent images and stories.

Natalie completed her Journalism studies at UTS in Sydney and has had articles published in the Sydney Morning Herald, the Canberra Times and the Point, a local Sydney paper.

For the past 12 months Natalie has been working as a journalist with the Dubbo Daily Liberal where she covered many arts and cultural stories among the huge volume of diverse news items every journalist has to cover.

“I am excited to be working with the positive and constructive aspects of life” she says “ and using my media skills and knowledge to assist the arts sector to become even stronger in our region.”

As a first time resident in the Bathurst area, Natalie is becoming accustomed to the frosty weather but has been delighted by the warm reception given her by locals.

Natalie will be working fulltime with the organisation, based in their Bathurst offices located at Charles Sturt University and is responsible for preparing and delivering radio segments, the monthly ArtSpeak newsletter and maintaining the website.
