CreateAbility exhibition on show in Blayney for International Day of People with a Disability

To celebrate the 26th International Day of People with a Disability on December 3, Arts OutWest presents CreateAbility at The Cottage in Blayney.

CreateAbility, the exhibition just back from Australia’s only regional disability arts festival – Awakenings in Horsham Victoria, will be on public display at The Cottage at 97 Adelaide Street, Blayney from Thursday November 30 – Wednesday December 13, 10am-4pm.

This exhibition features striking visual artworks, in a variety of mediums, by central west artists living with a disability.

The majority of the 20 artworks in the collection were created in Arts OutWest’s Celebrate Ability Workshops earlier in the year, under the guidance of Blayney artist Nyree Reynolds and Cowra sculptor Ken Hutchinson.

The local community is invited to come and admire these talented budding artists work and celebrate International Day of People with a Disability.

Arts OutWest in partnership with Disability, Information and Advocacy Service (DIAS), Mitchell Conservatorium, Bathurst and District Museum and other local disability service providers have also organised a free day of art and entertainment in Bathurst to mark International Day of People with a Disability.

On Sunday December 3, 10am-4pm at the Mitchell Conservatorium and the front lawn of the Bathurst Courthouse on Russell Street there will be exhibitions, art activities and live performances.

These events have been made possible with support from the Australian Government’s Regional Arts Fund, Accessible Arts NSW in partnership with Department of Ageing, Disability and Homecare and Country Energy.
