Arts OutWest Hits 2PK Airwaves
For the first
time this Friday Arts OutWest will kick off a weekly
segment on Parkes Radio 2PK (1404 AM).
On a visit to
Parkes last Wednesday (November 15) Arts OutWest communications officer Natalie Kent brokered an agreement with 2PK News Director
Trevor Young to commence a weekly pre-recorded Arts OutWest
segment.
Hitting the 2PK
airwaves on Fridays at 1.30pm the new segment will cover up and coming arts and cultural events in
the 2PK broadcasting area including Parkes, Forbes, Peak Hill, Orange, Cowra, Condobolin and beyond.
“It’s good to
have Arts OutWest on board at 2PK,” Mr Young said.
“The weekly
segment will be a great way to get arts news out to the people of the Central
West.”
Arts OutWest communications officer Natalie Kent who will be delivering the pre-recorded segment
said it was a new way of reaching more artists and art enthusiasts out west.
“A weekly spot on 2PK offers a great opportunity to let people out west know about the
array of arts and cultural events happening in the region,” she said.
“It’s also a way
of raising the profile of Arts OutWest as a promotional service for people organising an arts event to utilise,” she said.
The 2PK segment
will be an addition to Arts OutWest’s
existing radio program, including pre-recorded and live segments on Central West ABC radio station 2CR, community radio station 2MCE and Bathurst radio station 2BS.
